Key points:
- Starlink's Roam Unlimited is increasing in price from $165/mo to $175/mo, and Roam 100GB is increasing from $50/mo to $55/month.
- Starlink Residential MAX is increasing from $120/mo to $130/mo, and their lower tiered plans are also seeing an increase.
- Starlink Standby Mode is DOUBLING in price - from $5/mo to $10/mo.
Late last week, SpaceX quietly introduced a new Starlink Roam 300GB data plan at a very attractive $80/month price point.
But as is typical with Starlink, new plan roll outs are often done haphazardly - and one change often indicates a cascade of other changes coming.
And early this Saturday morning - Starlink began sending out email notices of price increases to existing customers.
The justification:
"Strong demand for Starlink reflects the value customers continue to see in the service. This adjustment supports ongoing improvements and investment in affordable, high-performance products and services as global operating costs continue to rise."
Except for the brand new Roam 300GB plan, all of Starlink's consumer plans are getting a price increase.
The price increases are effective immediately for new customers, and existing customers should see these price increase starting on their next billing cycle on or after June 18, 2026.

Roam Plan Increases
Starlink now offers three tiers of Roam Plans, designed for land based mobility.
These plans require no address updates when you change locations, work while in motion up to 100Mph, and work when crossing international land borders for up to 60-days.
Service is always at 'Best Effort' - meaning they are the lowest tier of Starlink service, and in congested markets consumers may see lower speeds than other plan types.
Roam plans are well matched for RVers and coastal cruiser - and are offered in three tiers of data buckets: 100GB, 300GB and Unlimited.
The new pricing as of this morning is:

Roam 300GB just rolled out late last week at $80/month, and that remains the same.
However Roam 100GB has increased from $50/month to $55. And Roam Unlimited has increased from $165/month to $175.
The 100GB and 300GB plans get unlimited data but at slower speeds suitable for e-mails, calls and TXT after reaching the data cap.
Only the Roam Unlimited can have Ocean Mode added at $2/GB for coverage more than 12nm offshore.
Consumers can switch between the plans mid-month as their usage changes, benefiting from pro-rated charges through the end of their billing month.
Residential Plan Increases
Starlink Residential data plans are designed for fixed location usage - typically a traditional home.
But some nomads successfully utilize these Residential plans by manually updating their service address each time they change locations.
These plans do not work while in motion and can not cross international borders. But the benefit is lower costs, and higher priority Standard data when compared to Roam.
Residential offers three different data plans - all unlimited, but in different speed tiers. 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps are only available in select markets, and MAX (full speed) is typically available everywhere. Congestion surcharges to activate service may apply in high demand markets.
The current line up as of this morning:

Residential 100 Mbps has increased to $55/month from $50/mo, Residential 200 Mbps has increased to $85/month from $80/mo and Residential MAX has increased to $130/month from $120/month.
Standby Mode Doubles in Price!
Starlink's Standby Mode was rolled out in 2025 as an option for consumers to pause their service while still keeping basic connectivity.
While in Standby mode, customers get unlimited data - but capped at 500 Kbps speed.
Standby is intended for emergency use, keeping firmware updated, and easy reactivation when in non-cellular areas.
But Standby has also proven usable for basic web surfing, low resolution video streaming & video conferencing, TXT messaging, VOIP/Wi-Fi calling, basic remote monitoring, and even downloading of large files overnight.
Standby mode is only available to existing customers on Roam or Residential plans to switch to, and can only be kept activated for up to 12-months.
Starlink recently removed the In Motion feature from this plan.
When this mode was first rolled out, it was offered at a very attractive no-brainer $5/month.
Now, the feature will be $10/month - a substantial doubling in price that will have some people reconsidering the benefits of keeping Starlink on standby versus just reactivating completely when needed.
Concluding Thoughts

Starlink continues demosnstrating that the only thing constant with them is change.
Recently - the business-focused Priority plans received a price decrease.
Then earlier this week - the 300GB plan came out at an attractive $80/month, hitting a sweet spot between the 100GB and Unlimited plans.
But just days later comes unwelcome changes - price increases.
This is especially jarring after we spotted a potential tease that Roam Unlimited might be seeing a price decrease to $150/month.
For Roam customers, the price increases on the 100GB and Unlimited plans makes the new 300GB plan even more attractive. It also makes the newly decreased price point of Local Priority 500GB at $155/month an offering worth considering.
The savings of the capped plans over Unlimited has become even more substantial, and may prompt more mobile customers to seek out a cellular data plan or two to supplement a lower cost 100 or 300GB data plan.
The price increase of Standby Mode to $10/month may cause some to just cancel service and re-activate when needed - for which there is currently no extra cost to do, and is just a minor extra step.
Thankfully however, as of today, Starlink has not (yet?) implemented the removal International Roaming from the Roam plans - something we also saw teased.
Stay tuned for what's next!
