Key Points:
- Building on the foundation of the Balance 310 launched in January, the new Balance 310 5G adds cellular, Wi-Fi 7, and a whole lot of additional ports.
- Router throughput is 4 Gbps - compared to 1 Gbps in the popular MAX BR1/BR2 and B One. SpeedFusion bonded connection throughput is 1 Gbps - an even more substantial 5x leap from the 200 Mbps of the previous generation.
- The Balance 310 5G is the first Peplink cellular router with integrated Wi-Fi 7, though the dual-band 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi radio will limit its performance.
- The Balance 310 5G has 8x 2.5 Gbps PoE+ Ethernet ports, a 10 Gbps WAN Ethernet port, and 2x USB-C ports for tethering.

Peplink today has launched the Balance 310 5G - a new flagship cellular router that packs a ton of features into a relatively small package.
Though not specifically targeting mobile installations - the rugged Balance 310 5G is well suited to mobile usage, and it is a natural contender for serving as the heart of the most advanced marine and RV setups.
At the core of the Balance 310 5G is the same advanced CPU and routing platform that debuted in the Balance 310 in January.
This platform delivers a 5x increase in SpeedFusion bonding throughput compared to previous popular routers like the MAX BR1 or BR2 Pro.
The Balance 310 5G features 5G cellular (via an X65 modem), Wi-Fi 7, and two USB-C tethering ports for even more multi-WAN capabilities.
The Balance 310 5G delivers a lot of capability - but the list price of $2,499 (compared to just $999 for the Balance 310!) will limit its appeal.
But for those looking for the best-of-the-best - there is now a tough decision: the proven dual-modem MAX BR2 Pro ($2,899), or the all-new and overall more advanced single-modem Balance 310 5G?

Balance 310 5G Technical Details
Most previous Peplink routers have been limited to 1 Gbps of routing throughput, and performance drops to just 200 Mbps when using SpeedFusion to bond together multiple connections.
The Balance 310 released in January (and now the Balance 310 5G) debut a new generation of core router CPU - and it delivers a significant increase in core throughput to 4 Gbps, with a full 1 Gbps of SpeedFusion capability.
This sort of speed would be wasted on most typical gigabit Ethernet local networks - but the Balance 310 5G has ample 2.5 Gbps PoE+ ports to connect to (and even power) your local devices. PoE-powered security cameras or Wi-Fi access points can be powered directly from the router, no additional equipment required.
On the WAN side - the Balance 310 5G has integrated 5G cellular, Wi-Fi-as-WAN support, 2x USB-C ports that support tethering, and a dedicated ultra-fast 10 Gbps wired Ethernet WAN port. There is also a 10 Gbps SFP+ LAN/WAN port for integrating in with fiber or other advanced network infrastructure.
In addition to all this WAN capability - Peplink's Synergy feature enables a roof-mounted device, like the Antenna MAX or HD1 Dome to provide additional 5G cellular and/or Wi-Fi-as-WAN connectivity inputs.
Topping it all off - the Peplink 5G Adapter (Ethernet) or 5G Dongle (USB-C) lets you add an additional X62 cellular modem as a WAN source for just $399/ea - making up for the limitation that the B310 5G only has a single integrated cellular modem.
For those looking to build a powerful multi-component connectivity arsenal, the Balance 310 5G is well-equipped to be the heart of it.

Wi-Fi 7 Debuts, Disappoints

The Balance 310 5G is the first Peplink router to feature integrated Wi-Fi 7 support.
But the Balance 310 5G only supports two of the three Wi-Fi 7 bands (just 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, not 6 GHz).
And it only supports 2x2 MIMO - with just two Wi-Fi antennas.
Most of the true benefits of Wi-Fi 7 for a super-fast local wireless network only emerge when using compatible client devices using 6 GHz spectrum and/or 4x4 MIMO antennas.
We suspect the Wi-Fi performance of the Balance 310 5G will ultimately be underwhelming compared to a dedicated and more advanced triple-band 4x4 MIMO Wi-Fi 7 access point, like the Peplink AP One Enterprise ($499).
But still - Wi-Fi 7 support is a step forward from the Wi-Fi 6 integrated into previous Peplink routers. We only wish this was a more substantial embrace of Wi-Fi 7 than has been demonstrated here.

Cellular Modem - Still X65

The Balance 310 5G features the same Qualcomm X65 5G modem that came to the MAX BR2 Pro in March 2025.
This is a solid, well-proven cellular modem module - but the industry is currently primed to shift towards more advanced and future-proof X72 and X75 modems, and it would have been nice to see the Balance 310 5G pushing towards the cutting edge.
But the realities of supply chains and carrier certifications mean that the Balance 310 5G was always all but certainly destined to debut with the proven X65 modem.
Anyone who already has an X62 or better modem in their router might want to hold off on upgrading to the X65 Balance 310 5G.
But anyone with a 4G or X55-era 5G modem should be looking to find any excuse to evolve - the benefits of the newer 5G standards are worth it.

Concluding Thoughts

The Balance 310 5G is a true do-it-all router, with an amazing amount of built-in-capabilities.
The biggest thing the B310 5G lacks relative to the well-loved MAX BR2 Pro is a second cellular modem.
But in pretty much every other way - the Balance 310 5G exceeds the BR2 Pro, and it is $400 cheaper too.
If the redundancy benefits of an additional cellular modem are critically important - you can add a second (or third!) 5G modem into the mix with the Balance 310 5G via USB tethering using Peplink's 5G Dongle, for just $399 per additional cellular connection.
Or you can just tether in any handy personal cellular phone for those occasions that multiple cellular options are necessary.
Overall - the B310 5G is a really solid addition to Peplink's cellular router lineup, and we look forward to this level of performance working its way down over time into more mainstream product offerings as well.

Heads Up: Balance 310 Naming Confusion
Peplink has a confusing habit of reusing model names and numbers. So it is important to know that the new Balance 310 5G has NOTHING in common with the old Balance 310 5G that was just removed from Peplink's website, or Balance 310 Fiber 5G which is still listed on Peplink's website.
These older routers with the 310 name should now be considered obsolete, especially in light of the raw capabilities of the new Balance 310 and 310 5G.
A quick comparison reveals the differences:
- Balance 310 5G (June 2026 - HW3) - 8x 2.5 Gbps POE+ LAN Ethernet, 10 Gbps WAN Ethernet, 5G (X65 ) Cellular, Wi-Fi 7, 2x USB-C tethering, 4 Gbps routing, 1 Gbps SpeedFusion. $2,499
- Balance 310 (January 2026) - 4x 10 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 2x 2.5 Gbps WAN Ethernet, no Wi-Fi, no cellular, no USB tethering, 4 Gbps routing, 1 Gbps SpeedFusion. $999
And the old models:
- Balance 310X - 9x 1 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 2x 1 Gbps WAN Ethernet, no Wi-Fi, x55 5G cellular, dual USB, 2.5 Gbps routing, 500 Mbps SpeedFusion. $3,999
- Balance 310 5G - 5x 1 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 2x Fiber LAN, 1x 1 Gbps WAN Ethernet, no Wi-Fi, x55 5G cellular + cat-12 LTE, 1 Gbps routing, 500 Mbps SpeedFusion. $1,999
- Balance 310 Fiber 5G - 5x 1 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 1x Fiber LAN, 1x Fiber WAN, 1x 1 Gbps WAN Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5, x55 5G cellular, 1 Gbps routing, 500 Mbps SpeedFusion. $1,999
As you can see, the new Balance 310 5G outperforms the older models in essentially every way.
