Business Unlimited Ultimate 3.0 Details
AT&T's new Business Unlimited Ultimate 3.0 smartphone plan has some great premium features, but also comes with a premium price tag of $110/month.
As with AT&T's other plans, it includes unlimited high-speed on-device data. However, it comes with significantly more high-speed mobile hotspot data - 500 GB per month, which is the most we've ever seen on a phone plan.
Another change is that after 500 GB of hotspot data is used, data will slow to 3 Mbps. On AT&T's other plans, hotspot speeds slow to 128 Kbps after the high-speed cap is met. While 3 Mbps is still modest by modern standards, it is far more usable than 128 Kbps and should comfortably handle basic tasks such as checking email and light web browsing.
The plan also includes AT&T Turbo for Business, which means the plan has the highest data priority available on AT&T’s network.
Other perks of the plan include up to 4K UHD streaming, 10 International Day Passes per bill cycle, and one watch and one tablet line included at no extra charge (other than taxes, fees, and any device charges).
Other Plan Changes
AT&T also made some small tweaks to its other smartphone plans.
Business Unlimited Premium 3.0 now includes Turbo for Business, and the price increased by $5/month to $85/month.
Business Unlimited Advanced 3.0 retains the same features, but is now $10 less at $70/month.
Top Pick Plan Designation
Given the large amount of mobile hotspot data on this plan and other premium features, we have given this plan a Top Pick designation in our list of Top Pick Data Plans.
To summarize, here are the specs of the new plan:
- $110/month (including the $10 AutoPay discount)
- Unlimited data on-device
- 500 GB of hotspot/tethering data, then unlimited at 3 Mbps
- No data deprioritization
- Up to 4K UHD streaming
- AT&T Turbo for Business
- 10 International Day Passes per bill cycle
- Roam Latin America
- Includes one watch and one tablet line at no extra service charge
Comparison to Other Top Pick Plans
Compared to the Top Pick plans from T-Mobile and Verizon, AT&T's Top Pick Unlimited Ultimate 3.0 is the most expensive at $110/month. But it offers significantly more hotspot data at 500 GB per month, compared with the 300 GB and 100 GB offered by T-Mobile and Verizon, respectively.
All of the Top Pick plans include priority data and up to 4K UHD streaming, but Verizon only supports 4K UHD streaming if you are on their 5G UW network.
Here's a chart that shows the highlights for the Top Pick plans from each provider.
While it is the most expensive plan, it does offer benefits over the other Top Pick plans. If a lot of hotspot data is a high priority for you, then 500 GB of hotspot data may make the higher price tag on this plan worthwhile.
