Verizon quietly rolled out some changes to its smartphone plan lineup. They increased the prices on their top-tier Unlimited Ultimate plan and some of the monthly add-on perks.
Starting May 7, the price of the Unlimited Ultimate plan is now $95/month - an increase of $5 over the previous monthly rate.
Verizon is keeping the name of the plan the same, but referring to plans purchased before May 7 as Unlimited Ultimate 1.0. If you are already on that plan, then you will keep the previous rate of $90/month, and there are no changes to your account.
But going forward, the only version of the plan that is available for sign-ups is the $95/month option. Verizon is throwing in two new perks to the new version of the plan at no charge - Family Plus and Identity Secure.
Verizon also increased the monthly rate for two of the add-on perks that are available with any of its smartphone plans. Previously, all of the perks were $10/month, but the Netflix/MAX (with ads) add-on is now $13/month, and Apple One is now $15/month.
Additionally, they have added one new perk - FOX One, for $15/month.
