T-Mobile has confirmed plans to force some customers on older, legacy plans, including Simple Choice, ONE, and Magenta, to migrate to newer Experience plans, which will may result in higher monthly costs for many affected customers.
While they have not posted a formal announcement on their website, they have confirmed this information via a statement to The Mobile Report.
Customers on these older plans will be forced to move to a new set of plans, which will be called Experience Select, Experience Signature, Experience Value Signature, and Experience Signature Family. There are also versions of the Experience More (TI) and Experience Beyond (TI) plans, which are similar to the existing Experience More and Experience Beyond plans, but with taxes and fees included.
The plan each customer is migrated to will depend on their current plan.
It's also been reported that tablet, wearable, and some home internet lines will also be seeing increases of $3-$6.
They also will be removing the KickBack discount, which offered a $10 credit to customers who use less than 2GB of data per month.
Thus far, it appears that customers on Go5G plans are not affected.
Announcements to affected customers are already being sent out. There is a page on the T-Mobile website where you can log in if you are a current customer, and it will detail any changes that are being made. However, the information on that website may not have been rolled out to everyone yet.
