Sonim is a rugged-device company focused on public safety, enterprise, and field-worker markets, and is now part of NEXA mobility.
The Sonim MegaConnect is a premium ruggedized 5G hotspot for AT&T and FirstNet with two unusual features:
- Support for higher transmit power (High Power User Equipment - HPUE) on FirstNet LTE Band 14, giving it a potential coverage and uplink advantage in fringe areas and weak-signal environments.
- 4x TS-9 ports - two ports for cellular, 1 port for Band 14/n14 HPUE, and 1 port for GPS.
The hotspot utilizes a Qualcomm SDX75 modem, comes with a large removable 8,000 mAh battery, and includes 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi 7 (no 6 GHz support).
