GL.iNet is a Hong Kong-based tech company that manufactures a range of routers, mobile hotspots, and other networking devices.
GL.iNet has a large product line, and the Mudi 7 is their newest and most advanced mobile hotspot as of early 2026. It has an X72 Qualcomm modem and supports tri-band Wi-Fi 7. It also has cellular antenna ports, an Ethernet port, separate USB-C ports for power and data, and includes support for 2x SIM plus eSIM.
While the Mudi 7 shares the same name and a similar look as the original Mudi V2, it's actually a complete redesign with significantly more advanced internal components and capabilities.
The Mudi 7 is in presale status and is expected to be generally available in April 2026.

Mobile hotspot devices are small, self-contained units that receive a cellular data signal and transform it into an internet connection. They are a cellular modem and router combined. Most can create their own personal Wi-Fi network.
They are typically designed with a specific cellular carrier in mind and require a suitable cellular data plan of their own to operate. You might see them called Jetpacks (Verizon's term for them) or MiFi (Inseego's name for them).
Here's a quick video going over the features of a hotspot, and what makes one better than another:
