Key points:
- Starlink has quietly adjusted their $50 Roam plan to now include 100GB of high speed data, instead of 50GB.
- After the 100GB is used up, the plan switches to unlimited data at slow speeds.
- It appears that Starlink's holiday promotions on Mini and Standard dishes have also expired; new regular pricing is $299 for Mini and $349 for Standard.
Starlink is well known for sudden and unannounced changes to its terms and plan lineup, and today Starlink is true to form by quietly rolling out a new Roam 100GB plan for $50/month in some markets, including the USA, presumably replacing the 50GB version of the plan.

Starlink Roam 100GB Video Overview
Roam 100GB
Today, we started to see reports of Starlink offering a Roam 100GB plan for $50/month. The Roam 50GB at the same price is no longer available for switching to or for new activations, except in select markets.
Aside from doubling the amount of high speed data (defined as speeds up to 300 Mbps) included for the same $50/month price - Starlink is now automatically switching the plan to unlimited use at low speeds for the rest of the billing period. They say these speeds are suitable for basic e-mail, calls and TXT messages.
While they don't specifically state what speeds to expect after exceeding 100GB, existing users are getting a notation that the unlimited data will be at '90th percentile speeds'. We anticipate that these speeds may be comparable to Standby Mode, introduced late last year, which provides unlimited service at 500 Kbps to those who want to pause service.
It also seems that Starlink is no longer offering the ability to purchase extra high speed data by the GB once the 100GB is used up - those desiring more data will need to switch to Roam Unlimited for $165/month. Previously, additional high speed data could be purchased at $1/GB, or service was shut off entirely.
The plan retains all other existing features of mobility, roaming on land, and land use around the world (up to 2 months outside of your home country).
Existing Roam 50GB Users?
While Starlink doesn't officially address it on their website, we anticipate that current customers on Roam 50GB will be automatically transitioned to the new 100GB plan for the same price.
We'll update this space once we hear of confirmations of this.
Holiday Promotions Expired
When double-checking this new plan, we also noted that Starlink's holiday promotions on the Mini and Standard dish seem to have also quietly expired.
The new regular pricing seems to now be $299 for Mini (originally launched at $599, and then we've seen steady reductions) and $349 for Standard (originally launched at $499).
Concluding Thoughts
Starlink seems to have recognized that occasional Starlink users can benefit from more data usage, so it's great to see a doubling of data on the $50/month plan. Starlink states that 100GB should be suitable for use for about a week of normal usage.
It is unfortunate however, that the flexibility of adding on additional data as needed has gone away, but unlimited data at low speeds is a nice compromise.
