Starlink has sent an email to some US based customers alerting them that they qualify for a free Mini rental bundled with their Residential service if they have been loyal residential customer for over 1 year.
The email states that the Mini will arrive activated on the Starlink $5/month low speed Standby plan, but at any time the customer can upgrade to high speed roam plans with a 50% discount on the service price.
The customer can downgrade to the Standby at their next billing cycle and move between the plans as needed to fit their needs.
In order to maintain the free Mini, the customer must maintain their Residential service and at a minimum keep the Mini on the $5/month Standby plan. If the users cancels either, they must return the Mini or pay the cost of the dish.
The Mini can be taken anywhere the user needs including road trips, camping, or boating and across 150+ countries, territories, and markets.
Details and specifics about the deal can be found in the Starlink FAQ.
Overall, if you were looking to add a Mini to your arsenal and you don't mind the minimum extra $60/year cost, this can be a great option. If you did not receive the email, then unfortunately you do not qualify for the promotion which is only guaranteed through Nov 17th.
