Key Points:
- The new Peplink Balance 310 is the first of a new generation of Peplink routers - delivering much faster routing and SpeedFusion performance.
- Router throughput is 4 Gbps - compared to 1 Gbps in the popular MAX BR1/BR2 and B One.
- Encrypted SpeedFusion bonded connection throughput is 1 Gbps - a substantial leap from the 200 Mbps of the MAX BR1/BR2 and B One.
- The Balance 310 lacks integrated Wi-Fi or cellular, but when paired with external access points and cellular WAN sources, it can be a powerful hub for high-end mobile installations.

Peplink has today launched an all-new Balance 310 router - the first of what is expected to be a new generation of routers with vastly improved performance.
Until now, the most popular Peplink routers have been limited to 1 Gbps of routing throughput and just 200 Mbps when using SpeedFusion to bond multiple connections.
The Balance 310 delivers a significant increase in core throughput to 4 Gbps, with 1 Gbps SpeedFusion capability.
To take advantage of this speed, the Balance 310 ups Ethernet LAN speed to 10 Gbps and also includes two 2.5 Gbps WAN ports - one of which can provide PoE+ power and/or be used as an additional LAN port.
The Balance 310 delivers a lot of capability for a list price of $999.
But it lacks some critical features we have come to expect from Peplink, at least for now...
Balance 310 - No Integrated Wi-Fi or 5G
The key point to note about the Balance 310 is that it is NOT a fully integrated mobile router with cellular and Wi-Fi features.

The Balance 310 is designed to be a hub, and for most mobile installations, you will need to add one (or more) access points and WAN inputs for cellular and satellite connectivity.
Peplink's Synergy feature enables a roof-mounted device, like the Antenna MAX or HD1 Dome, to provide 5G cellular and Wi-Fi-as-WAN connectivity to a campground or marina network.
The other WAN port can be used for Starlink or as an additional cellular input.
For local Wi-Fi, Peplink's dedicated Access Points (like the new AP One Enterprise with Wi-Fi 7) can be added to the LAN via Ethernet, providing a local Wi-Fi network that is significantly more capable than what is typically built into a mobile router.
For those looking to build a powerful multi-component connectivity arsenal, the Balance 310 is well-equipped to be the heart of it.
But for those seeking all-in-one simplicity, this is not the mobile router you are looking for.
Concluding Thoughts
For most people, the performance of the current popular generation of Peplink routers, such as the MAX BR1 5G and B One, is more than sufficient.
For now.
But cellular and satellite networks will keep getting faster - and even now, it is not uncommon to max out a Peplink router when using SpeedFusion, leaving some of your connectivity potential wasted.
Having a router ready to go faster is a great way to be future-ready.
And for those with demanding LAN needs (like video editing on an Ethernet-connected NAS), 10 Gbps local networking speeds let external storage really shine when you have compatible gear.
Based on Peplink's track record, we expect future router models to incorporate the new, improved routing internals found in the Balance 310, including cellular and Wi-Fi support.
It is great to see the Peplink product line continue to evolve in this way.
Heads Up: Balance 310 Naming Confusion
Peplink has a confusing habit of reusing model names and numbers. The new Balance 310 has nothing in common with the old Balance 310X, Balance 310 5G, or Balance 310 Fiber 5G.
These older routers with the 310 name were much more expensive and primarily were intended for niche deployments or enterprise rack-mount installations.
A quick comparison:
- Balance 310 (NEW) - 4x 10 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 2x 2.5 Gbps WAN Ethernet, no Wi-Fi, no cellular, no USB tethering, 4 Gbps routing, 1 Gbps SpeedFusion. $999
- Balance 310X - 9x 1 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 2x 1 Gbps WAN Ethernet, no Wi-Fi, x55 5G cellular, dual USB, 2.5 Gbps routing, 500 Mbps SpeedFusion. $3,999
- Balance 310 5G - 5x 1 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 2x Fiber LAN, 1x 1 Gbps WAN Ethernet, no Wi-Fi, x55 5G cellular + cat-12 LTE, 1 Gbps routing, 500 Mbps SpeedFusion. $1,999
- Balance 310 Fiber 5G - 5x 1 Gbps LAN Ethernet, 1x Fiber LAN, 1x Fiber WAN, 1x 1 Gbps WAN Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5, x55 5G cellular, 1 Gbps routing, 500 Mbps SpeedFusion. $1,999
As you can see, the new Balance 310 outperforms the older models in nearly every way, and costs substantially less too.
We would not at all be surprised to see the rest of the Balance 310 line fleshed out with more new models (with integrated 5G and/or Wi-Fi) based on the new routing core debuting in the new 2026 Balance 310.
