Knowing what gauges you have and what they mean can be invaluable in troubleshooting - making sure that the router is actually performing as expected, and that data is flowing where you want it to go.

Accessing the Peplink Admin Dashboard

There are several ways to view or manage a Peplink router. The options available depend on the router model, its Care plan status, and whether you are connected locally or remotely.

• Local Dashboard - The primary way to control a Peplink router is via its web admin dashboard, accessed while connected to your local Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. This dashboard is accessed through your web browser via the default address of 192.168.50.1, though some "Balance" models default to 192.168.1.1. These default IP addresses can be changed.
• Peplink InControl 2 - Peplink's cloud-based management service is useful for remotely monitoring and managing one or many routers. It can also provide remote access to the router's normal web dashboard. InControl 2 generally requires an active Peplink Care plan, with the specific plan and included term depending on the router model. You can create an account and register supported routers at InControl2.peplink.com.
• Peplink Router Utility - Peplink's iOS and Android monitoring app provides quick access to WAN status, SpeedFusion connections, connected clients, event logs, bandwidth usage, and some router settings. It is designed as a companion to the full web dashboard rather than a replacement for it.
• Peplink App - Peplink's newer app offers a simplified interface for supported router models. It can handle common tasks such as checking WAN status, changing WAN priority, viewing clients, managing Wi-Fi, and configuring SpeedFusion. It complements rather than replaces the full web dashboard or InControl 2, and an active Care plan is required to change router settings through the app.

For most factory-default Peplink routers, the initial username and password are both “admin.” You will be required to create a new password after the first successful login. Provider-customized routers may use different credentials, so check the label or documentation supplied with the device if “admin” does not work.

TIP: Your browser may display a certificate or privacy warning because the router uses a locally generated security certificate that the browser cannot independently verify. It is generally appropriate to continue only when you are connected directly to your own router and have confirmed that the address is correct.
