The wait is over, the new BR1 MINI X62 Edition is here. This router features the Qualcomm next generation X62 cellular modems, which support 3GPP Release 16 specification of 5G, commonly referred to as "5G Phase 2" supporting the latest cellular technologies. The BR1 Mini 5G is an excellent choice for existing Peplink customers looking to add 5G to their existing Peplink setup using Synergy Mode (see videos for details).

The MAX BR1 5G Mobile Router is an excellent choice for the traveler looking to stay connected on-the-go with cellular data who want a blazing fast single cellular connection and who do not require WIFI inside their router.

  • 1x 5G X62 Series Cellular Modem
  • 1x WAN Port (2 with Virtual WAN included in PrimeCare)
  • 2x LAN Ports (3 with assignable WAN to LAN)
  • 1 Year of SpeedFusion Connect Protect WAN Bonding + 500GB of data transfer (single cellular device can bond cellular WAN with WAN ethernet devices)

Qualcomm X62 Next Generation 5G

The X62 modems included in this device represent the latest generation 5G modems available for mobile routers. This includes support for 2-way carrier aggregation and higher peak theoretical speeds. Support for carrier aggregation between low and mid-band frequencies and the ability to combine cellular spectrums to improve speed, range and reliability. The ability to perform carrier aggregation on low-band and mid-band at the same time represents a huge leap forward in cellular performance, speed and connection reliability. The x62 supports AT&T's "Andromeda" mid-band spectrum which was not supported on previous models such as the X55.

Super-Fast Cellular Internet

With the single 5G cellular modem, the BR1 5G's modem  can reach a theoretical max download speeds of up to 4Gbps and upload speeds of 700Mbps (max router throughput 300mbps). Easily switch between your carriers using the built-in 2 sim slots with the easy-to-use management interface.

The MAX BR1 5G comes with a 120V AC adapter but also accepts 12V inputs using our optional dc direct wire power adapter available in the options section above.

Synergy Mode

With Synergy Mode existing Peplink customers can add 5G to their setup with the BR1 MINI 5G using an ethernet cable connected to an existing Peplink WAN port and the BR1 Mini WAN Port. This will create a unified experience where both routers can be managed from a single dashboard allowing customers with 4G routers to add 5G easily.

One Embedded Cellular Modem

This mobile router is equipped with a single cellular modem. This device may have multiple SIM card slots but can connect to one cellular provider at a time. Single modem devices may include a USB port or expansion slot to add additional modems. Switching between SIM card slots can be done via the management console, typically in 30-60 seconds allowing time for the modem to reboot utilizing the auxiliary SIM slot(s). Higher-end single modem devices often have faster maximum download/upload speeds then other devices but lack the redundancy found in a multi-modem device. Our multi-modem collection of devices can be found here

Internet traffic can be routed in a variety of ways using Peplink's proprietary Outbound Policy Management Algorithms.  Single modem devices may be capable of utilizing SpeedFusion technology, also known as "WAN bonding", which may require separate licensing. Single modem devices can bond the single cellular connection with the devices WAN port or WIFI-as-WAN sources if the device supports these functions.  See SpeedFusion section on this page for additional information.

5G/Category 20 Modem

This mobile router is equipped with one or more 5G / Category 20 cellular modems with a maximum download speed of 4Gbps and a maximum upload speed of 700Mbps (typical speeds range from 10-350mbps depending on cellular network conditions and coverage). The category of the modem impacts the maximum upload and download speed of the device and what cellular bands or "channels" the device can connect to. Cellular bands act similarly to "channels" on television, each cellular provider broadcasts on specific bands. 5G modems include Bands specific to 5G service and also work on 4G Bands as well. 5G modems have the broadest Band support available today. This includes access to Band 14, and T-Mobile's Band 71 as well as 5G bands like n71 and n41 and more.  For a complete list of bands supported, click the documentation tab for detailed specifications.

Licensed for SpeedFusion

This device is licensed for SpeedFusion access. SpeedFusion is Peplink's proprietary WAN bonding solution that can bond multiple internet connections together into a single, more resilient connection for added connection reliability. SpeedFusion-capable devices create a VPN tunnel that allows multiple internet connections to act as a single connection. SpeedFusion supports WAN-Smoothing, a technology that helps to prevent packet loss which is typically the cause for unstable internet connections. In order to utilize SpeedFusion you must either host your own SpeedFusion instance at a secondary location/datacenter or use Peplink's SpeedFusion Cloud service which is available for an additional monthly subscription fee. This device includes data allotment for SpeedFusion cloud transfer at up to 100Mbps per second (amount of data will change based on the hardware). For more information on SpeedFusion and SpeedFusion Cloud, please reach out to us below.

Roof Antenna Recommended

This mobile router comes with indoor antennas that provide 3db of cellular gain. Upgrading to an optional roof antenna can provide significant signal improvement by moving the cellular antenna outside, at higher elevation and provide you the benefit of an antenna with higher gain specifications. Roof antennas can be added now with a bundle discount by checking out our Internet Bundle Section, or at a later date based on your needs.

Supports WiFi-as-WAN

This device supports WiFi-As-WAN, meaning you can pick up public WiFi signals from hotspots, campgrounds, and other sources to rebroadcast them into your coach and use them as your local internet. The wireless antennas included with this modem will pick up these signals and rebroadcast them locally within your own WiFi network.

*Using public WiFi may be unreliable due to external environmental forces typically outside of customer's control and as such public WiFi is recommended to be used as a secondary backup connection.

FirstNet Ready

This device is FirstNet Ready! FirstNet is the nationwide public safety communications platform dedicated to America's first responders. Being built with AT&T, in public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority, FirstNet utilizes Band-14, which is reserved for public safety but is also being marketed as available to the public for additional bandwidth capacity. In testing Band-14 has been made available during non-emergency situations to the public to provide additional bandwidth and coverages to customers who have a modem that supports FirstNet's Band-14. Not all modems that support Band-14 are "FirstNet Certified" however they typically can connect to Band-14 in most areas. Information on FirstNet certifications can be found on Specification sheets located on the Documentation Tab. Additional information about FirstNet's use and technology can be found in this article from our friends at the RV Mobile Internet Resource Center.

Band 71 Ready

This device supports Band 71. Band 71 is T-Mobile's rural cellular band that operates on 600mhz which provides significant increases in coverage on the T-Mobile network for customers traveling outside of urban areas. 5G ready devices that support Band 71 typically also support Band 71n which is the 5G band for T-Mobile. Note that not all devices are 5G devices so check the listing above but with or without 5G you will still achieve increased coverage on the T-Mobile network with any device that supports Band 71. For more information about Band 71, check out the Band 71 Guide from our friends at the Mobile Internet Resource Center
